Timber Shores — a lakeside resort by Travelling Timbers
Reserve

The north, unhurried.

Where forestmeets water.

Welcome

A branch of Travelling Timbers

Handcrafted cabins where the boreal meets the water.

Timber Shores sits on Lesser Slave Lake in Widewater, AB, backing onto Nine Mile Creek — with a hidden sandy beach, direct access to Widewater's only boat launch, and forest pathways right outside the door.

Four Sage Cabins are ready now, with our new Timber Lodge open for events, and more of the resort taking shape every season. Every stay is yours to shape — from a firelit evening in to a full day out on the water.

Every cabin comes fully equipped, too — free WiFi, a gas fireplace, and a BBQ right outside your door — plus there's the private beach, boat launch access, and a communal fire pit by the Lodge. Bringing the dog along? We're pet friendly (a nightly surcharge applies).

Your days, your way

Things to do

01

On the water

Cast for walleye and pike, or take a canoe out at dusk when the lake goes still and the loons call across it.

02

Boreal trails & birds

Walk the forest to the Marten Mountain lookout, or catch the spring migration — the lake is one of North America's great songbird corridors.

03

Fireside & northern light

Gather round the communal fire pit by the Lodge, fire up the BBQ, and — when the season turns — watch the aurora move over the water.

This season

From the shore

”Woke up our first morning to a bald eagle right across the creek, clutching a fish, then soaring right over our heads. The rocky and sandy beaches are stunning, the sunsets magical, and the beds so comfortable and clean. Loved the fire pit.”

MLJS, Google review

”Beautiful new cabins only a short walk to the lakeshore. Can't wait to come back.”
