A branch of Travelling Timbers

Made for the long way north.

Timber Shores is a small lakeside retreat in Widewater, Alberta, built around the simple pleasure of having room to breathe.

Our place

Lesser Slave Lake · Alberta

A quiet basecamp on the shore.

Timber Shores began with a piece of boreal lakeshore and a belief that a stay does not need to be complicated to be memorable. Four Sage Cabins offer a warm, private place to land, with the lake and forest waiting just beyond the door.

Our new Timber Lodge gives families, friends, and teams a place to gather under one roof. Everything here is designed to feel useful, durable, and unhurried.

The Travelling Timbers spirit

Leave with more quiet than you brought.

01

Stay close to the water

Step from your cabin toward the hidden sandy beach, the boat launch, and wide northern skies.

02

Make space for people

Cook, gather, and linger in the Timber Lodge or around the communal fire pit beside it.

03

Take the day slowly

There is no itinerary required here. Fish, walk, read, watch the light, or do absolutely nothing.

A place still taking shape

Founding season, first stories.

Timber Shores is open now, with more cabins and shared spaces planned for the seasons ahead. Come early, stay awhile, and help us write the first chapter.
